Leveraging commercial investment in technology to meet U.S. defense and homeland security needs.

The Chemical, Biological, and Radiological Technology Alliance (CBRTA) is a partner in the National Technology Alliance. The CBRTA consists of 13 world-class member organizations with proprietary technologies and manufacturing capabilities that meet the U.S. Government’s needs for national security and homeland defense. These needs include discovering, initiating, accelerating, and commercializing technologies that will provide detection, identification, protection, and warning systems for CBR defense.

Collectively, the CBRTA provides the opportunity for government to leverage billions of dollars of member companies’ internal commercial R&D investment toward products that meet CBR security and defense needs.

The Alliance represents world-class expertise in life sciences, chemical sciences, materials, electronics, photonics, design for scale-up and manufacturing, and product development and insertion. 3M is the administrative lead for the CBRTA.
